The scout took some pictures to see whether C.R.S. members could guess where he’d been.

Richard Maunsell became Chief Mechanical Engineer of the Southern Railway in 1923.
Dugald Drummond became C.M.E. of the London & South Western Railway in 1895.
Which station was entered where the S.R. concrete fence panels still stand?
From Blockhouse Park (Mount Pleasant Redoubt), one of the highest points in the city, the Great Western main line viaduct can be seen. The Southern’s has long gone but a little of it can be seen by looking very closely at the photograph near the top of the park. +
A stump of one of the piers of Ford (St. Levan Road) Viaduct remains as a monument.

Answers: Maunsell Close and Drummond Close are residential roads built on the course of the former Plymouth, Devonport & South Western Junction Railway between Camel’s Head Halt and Ford (Devon). The station was Ford; beyond the entrance can be seen the cutting leading to Ford Tunnel.

Bulleid Close is also built on the course of the line. Westcountry Close and Southern Close lie beside the old route.
